Our Bees

We’re proud to raise a carefully selected blend of Carniolan and Italian honeybees—two of the most reliable and productive bee breeds in beekeeping. These bees have been chosen for their ability to thrive in our region’s unique climate and their remarkable qualities when it comes to honey production, winter hardiness, and overall hive health.

  • Carniolan Bees: Known for their excellent overwintering ability, Carniolan bees are hardy and able to withstand colder temperatures, making them a great choice for our mountainous region. Their gentle nature and high honey production make them a favorite among beekeepers. Carniolans are also known for their ability to adjust to changes in nectar flow, ensuring they gather as much honey as possible during peak seasons.
  • Italian Bees: Italian bees are renowned for their gentle temperament, strong foraging instinct, and impressive honey production. They are particularly good at producing large amounts of honey during the nectar flow, which makes them an ideal breed for honey production. Their ability to quickly adapt to different environments also contributes to their success in our apiary.

In addition to these well-established bee breeds, we’ve introduced Varroa Sensitive Hygiene (VSH) genetics into our stock. VSH bees are selectively bred for their ability to detect and remove Varroa mites from their brood, offering a more natural form of mite resistance.

All of our queens are open mated in Sevier county, Tennessee.
